Scythian Handmade Damascus Steel Knife
FS-1828
Regular price $124.99During the Achaemenid Persian empire, employing foreign soldiers as mercenaries became commonplace. One of the “fringe” territories that became a strong asset to the Persian army was the Scythians. The Scythians were a nomadic tribe who were renowned for their ability to shoot arrows with deadly accuracy from horseback.
Other than the bow and arrow which the Scythians were renowned for, they also carried a curved short-sword, known as an akinakes. We designed this knife after the akinakes with its curved blade and upturned drop point tip. The flared butt of the handle is also modified from the styling of the time. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steels, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge and makes it the ideal choice for a hunting knife. The unique sheath design allows you to attach it to your belt in a horizontal or vertical position.

Care Instructions
1095 steel is a high-carbon steel and will rust if not dried and oiled after use. Hand wash only with soap and hot water. Dry completely before oiling.
The knife is absolutely amazing, the quality is superb. The only question I have is, what type of sharpening stone do you recommend? Do you have a specific oil as well? I would love to be able to give a 10 star rating but the scale only allows me 5.
I absolutely love this knife. I have collected many knives over the years and these are exceptional quality and would recommend to anyone looking for a quality knife!!
I give the knife 5 stars, was disappointed at the way the knife fits the sheath.
This is a beautiful knife with a perfect hand feel. The Damascus design is amazing and the handle sturdy. This is my everyday knife here on the farm and it has paid for itself many times over.
Looks like like the preview and the damascus layering is beautiful. Wasn't the sharpest knife ever but held a great edge after sharpening. The sheath is about 2 inches to long I think but overall build quality is spot on. Will def buy another blade for my brother or father.
