According to Merriam-Webster, the word epicure means; one with sensitive and discriminating tastes, especially in food or wine. We are all about good food and great wine, but the name actually comes from the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus. Epicurus taught a philosophy of friendship, simple pleasures, and an uncomplicated lifestyle. The pursuit of pleasure was not about indulging all of the senses, but to find pleasure in the things that truly matter to you. We like this philosophy and try to live it to the best of our ability. That is why we named this Damascus steel petty knife after him.
The Epicure Damascus Steel Petty Utility Knife is an all around general-purpose knife that will become a mainstay in your kitchen. Petty knives are ideal for small work, such as peeling, slicing fruit and vegetables, or chopping herbs. Because of their smaller size, they are easier to maneuver and control. They are also fantastic for people who are uncomfortable with a full-sized chef knife. The compact size is much easier to learn with. We have added a rounded belly to our petty knife to make it easier to create a rocking motion while slicing. We also finished this knife with a synthetic G10 handle for low maintenance and great feel.

This knife is also available in a dark walnut version for a more natural look.
