Leif Erikson was a fearless Norse explorer who roamed the seas in the late 10th and early 11th centuries. Born as the son of the legendary Erik the Red, the founder of the first Norse settlement in Greenland, Leif was destined for greatness. With a thirst for adventure and a love for the open ocean, he set sail from Greenland in the year 1000, on a journey that would change the course of history forever.

With his crew of fearless warriors by his side, Leif made landfall on the shores of a new world, a place he named Vinland. He encountered the indigenous people, whom he called Skraelings, and showed them no mercy as he claimed this new land for the Norse. For several years, Leif explored the coast of North America, charting new territories and seeking out new adventures.

Leif Erikson is remembered as a symbol of Nordic exploration and bravery, a true pioneer who fearlessly charted unknown waters and claimed new lands for his people. He remains a legendary figure in the annals of history, celebrated for his bravery and his unwavering spirit of adventure. In the end, Leif Erikson's legacy will always be one of strength, courage, and the unbreakable spirit of a true Viking warrior.

Quality and colors make it a work of art

Rustic with a sheath.

It's a beautiful piece. Rustic and in some areas crudely fashioned. Some edges around the bolster are sharp and some of the seams are exposed that could allow food materials and moisture to get in. It appears that there is a black plastic butt cap that might have been over polished where the scales meet the cap. The 'thumb' side of the spine [I'm right handed] where the heal meets the spine is sharp and would be difficult to work with for any lengthy prep work.

Aside from those minor imperfections, It's a beautiful piece. I love the weight and balance. As a 6" 'chef knife', it's great for meats and most root vegetables and can also be used as a woodsman knife as well thanks to it's slotted leather sheath.
After giving it a fine hand sharpening with my stones, I could almost slice a tomato paper thin. This carbon steel gets razor sharp and retains it's edge. This is NOT a toy! It's a functioning instrument and a true work of art.

I have bought several forseti knives in the past and this newest knife I just purchased the Erikson, is a piece of art. I am very pleased with the overall quality and look of the knife. It came sharp and flawless. I will definitely continue buying forseti knives in the future.

Love this knife! Compact design, nice grip, feels comfortable in your hand--very sharp blade! As a side for the ladies--it fits in the smallest of bags. You won't be disappointed if you buy it!
