Our Knives

Where are Forseti knives made?
Our blades are hand-forged in Pakistan by generational bladesmiths who have been working Damascus steel for decades, then inspected and finished at our warehouse in West Jordan, Utah. Most brands bury that answer. We think it's the best part of the story.
Is it real Damascus steel?
Yes. Every Forseti blade is forged from layered high-carbon steel, folded and hammered by hand. The pattern runs all the way through the blade, it isn't etched on the surface. That's why no two Forseti knives are exactly alike. Read: No Two Blades Alike
What is the Forseti Bench Check?
A six-point inspection every knife passes before it ships: steel integrity, edge quality, handle stability, balance, fit, and presentation. If it fails one point, it doesn't ship. The knife you see on the site is the knife you get.
What does "Blem" mean?
Blems are knives with small cosmetic blemishes, an uneven grind line, a minor handle mark, that don't affect how the knife performs. They're sold at a discount and all Blem sales are final: no returns, exchanges, or warranty coverage. They do still qualify for free lifetime sharpening.

Rust, Care & Sharpening

Will my knife rust?
It can, if it's neglected. High-carbon Damascus steel is reactive by nature: it develops a darkened patina with use (normal, and part of its character) and it can rust if left wet or stored damp. A 20-second wipe-down after use and an occasional coat of oil prevent it entirely.
How do I care for my knife?
Three rules. Keep it dry and wipe the blade after every use. Give it a thin coat of oil before storage. Hand wash only, never the dishwasher. That's the whole routine, and your knife outlives you.
Do you really sharpen my knife for free, forever?
Yes. Send us any Forseti knife and we'll restore its factory edge and send it back, free, for as long as you own it. You cover shipping to us. Email support@forsetisteel.com first so we know it's coming, pack the blade safely, and we'll handle the rest. Full details on the warranty page
What angle should I sharpen my knife at?
Aim for about 20 degrees per side. That's the working edge our blades ship with, and it holds up for both kitchen and field use. If you're using a guided sharpening system, set it to 20 and you're done. Or skip the work entirely: lifetime sharpening is free.

Warranty & Returns

What does the lifetime warranty cover?
Any fault in materials or workmanship, for as long as you own the knife. If a knife ever fails because of how it was made, not how it was used, we repair or replace it free. It doesn't cover rust or patina (that's steel chemistry, not a defect), normal wear and dulling, misuse, or Blems. Read the full warranty
Can I return my knife?
Within 30 days, yes, for a full refund. No lectures, no hassle. The knife should come back in the condition you received it. Engraved and Blem knives are final sale.
My knife arrived damaged or has a defect. What do I do?
Email support@forsetisteel.com with your order number and a few photos. If it's a defect, we'll make it right with a repair or replacement, free. Damage from use outside the warranty is often still fixable, we'll quote you honestly either way.

Orders & Shipping

Where's my order?
You'll get a tracking link by email the moment your order ships. If tracking has stalled or something looks wrong, email support@forsetisteel.com with your order number and we'll chase it down.
How much is shipping, and how fast?
Shipping is free on orders over $50 anywhere in the continental US (rates for smaller orders are calculated at checkout). Standard orders typically arrive within 3 to 7 days, and expedited shipping is available at checkout if you need it faster.
Do you ship internationally?
Not currently. We ship within the US only. Knife import laws vary wildly from country to country, and we'd rather tell you no upfront than have your blade seized at customs. If that ever changes, you'll hear it on the blog first.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If it hasn't shipped yet, usually yes. Email support@forsetisteel.com as soon as possible with your order number. Once a knife is engraved or shipped, we can't pull it back, but the 30-day guarantee still applies to non-engraved, non-Blem items.

Engraving & Gifts

Can I get my knife engraved?
Yes. Custom engraving is available as an add-on on most knives, and it's how a great knife becomes an heirloom. Double-check your text before ordering: engraved knives are made to order and are final sale unless defective.
Do you do bulk or groomsmen orders?
We do, and they're some of our favorite orders. Engraved sets for groomsmen, retirements, and company gifts. Email support@forsetisteel.com with the quantity and date you need them by, and we'll take care of you.
