Use:
Before the first use, apply a generous coat of food-grade mineral oil or beeswax. Spread the oil evenly using a clean cloth or paper towel, ensuring all surfaces, including the edges are covered. Let the board absorb the oil overnight and wipe off any excess the next day.
Care:
- After each use, hand-wash the board with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not put cutting board into the dishwasher.
- Immediately after washing, stand it upright or lay on its side to ensure air circulation and complete drying.
- Reapply food-grade mineral oil or beeswax once a month (depending on usage), especially when the board starts looking dry or dull.
- To remove stains, sprinkle coarse salt or baking soda on the board and rub it with a cut lemon. Rinse and dry thoroughly afterward.
- Do not soak cutting board in water or leave it in a wet sink. Do not leave any type of liquid standing/resting on the cutting board for long periods of time. Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause warping or cracking.
- Keep the board away from direct heat sources and do not place hot pots or pans directly on the wood. Extreme temperatures can damage the board.
- Store cutting board in a dry, well ventilated area.
