We like books and one of our favorite authors is Ernest Hemingway. Not only was he a journalist, novelist, hunter, and sportsman, he was the quintessential man's man. He led a life that most of us would be in awe of. He traveled the world documenting humankind and telling his stories. Hemingway reported on the Spanish Civil War and World War II, and he even survived two plane crashes. The way we like to remember Hemingway is him sitting at his desk in Key Largo or Havana with a glass of bourbon and pen in his hand.

We have named this exquisite knife after Ernest Hemingway as it feels it would have belonged to him. Whether he was cutting line on his fishing boat or a lime for a gin and tonic, this is the kind of pocket knife we think he would have carried. A smaller knife, it is convenient to carry and use. A 3” blade is perfect for everyday tasks. The scales are made from stained bone and brass and it has a very rich feel to it. A lockback locking system keeps the blade locked open when in use. Finishing off this beautiful knife is a handmade leather sheath with a belt loop. You won’t be disappointed with this knife and neither would have Hemingway.

If you need a more subtle everyday carry pocket knife take a look at our J.H. Patterson Damascus Steel Knife.

A charming blend of a modern blade with a rustic handmade handle

Superb Damascus blade that stays sharp . Love the thick chunky brass and bone handle and the wooden box and leather pouch was a nice elegant touch.

Beautiful but not made to last

I bought this hoping to have a lifetime camping knife. After 3 outings in the last month or so and using the knife to cut mainly cheese and sausage and never having dropped it 2 of the decorative bone sections fell off. I can superglue them back on as it seems that’s how they were originally installed, but for a $100 knife I hoped for better quality.

Love this knife! Compact design, nice grip, feels comfortable in your hand--very sharp blade! As a side for the ladies--it fits in the smallest of bags. You won't be disappointed if you buy it!
