Scythian Handmade Damascus Steel Knife
MK-28
Regular price $124.99During the Achaemenid Persian empire, employing foreign soldiers as mercenaries became commonplace. One of the “fringe” territories that became a strong asset to the Persian army was the Scythians. The Scythians were a nomadic tribe who were renowned for their ability to shoot arrows with deadly accuracy from horseback.
Other than the bow and arrow which the Scythians were renowned for, they also carried a curved short-sword, known as an akinakes. We designed this knife after the akinakes with its curved blade and upturned drop point tip. The flared butt of the handle is also modified from the styling of the time. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steels, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge and makes it the ideal choice for a hunting knife.

The artistry of this blade is the first thing you’ll notice. We were going to engrave the blade and decided not to because it is too beautifully crafted. After you pick up the knife and feel the weight of it in your hand you can tell quality goes far beyond just looks. This is one of my favorite knives I’ve ever purchased...from any country.
Handle is alittle small for bigger hands other than that beautiful craftsmanship
This is the fourth Forseti Steel blade I have purchased. Each has arrived quickly and undamaged. Each has also been a joy to unbox! The presentation box is a beautiful touch and the leather sheaths have all been beautifully constructed and dyed. The steel, though is the star! Exhibiting a unique and stunning pattern, the blade is a masterfully forged weapon that is comfortable to grip and use. This is a Christmas gift for my son. I’m sure it will be in the family for generations.
I’ve always wanted a Damascus blade knife. This is a beautiful knife. Well crafted for the money and feels really good in the hand! An excellent purchase!
