I bought this as a gift for my dad who has always wanted a handmade knife but has never bought one. He loved it. He was so excited when he opened it and walked around showing the knife to everyone at his party. It was really cool.
Just got mine in yesterday, the blade is beautiful and has no major flaws. The build is very solid, it was dull out of the box but the bevel was fine and it took an edge pretty quickly.
My only qualms were in the fit and finish. The scales aren't sized properly to the handle so the spine protrudes a bit, some sharp edges on the exposed bits of tang and on the pins. A few more passes on the grinder though and this knife would be flawless.
Overall a great knife, it just needs some work and a bit more attention to detail.
Love the size and the blade look. I ve been using it to process fatwood kindling and its doing a great job. I did have to contact the company about the sheath coming apart and they are sending me a new sheath (thank you)
Colter Skinner Damascus Steel Knife
I was highly impressed with the quality of the steel and the finishing touches. My concern was that these knives would be laser etched "Damascus" instead of true Damascus. I have ordered two more knives from Forseti because of this. I hope their attention to detail will be the same. I can not comment on the longevity of the knife yet, but it looks like it will be a knife that stands up to years of abuse.
