Regular price $124.99 Sale price $54.99 Save $70.00During the Achaemenid Persian empire, employing foreign soldiers as mercenaries became commonplace. One of the “fringe” territories that became a strong asset to the Persian army was the Scythians. The Scythians were a nomadic tribe who were renowned for their ability to shoot arrows with deadly accuracy from horseback.
Other than the bow and arrow which the Scythians were renowned for, they also carried a curved short-sword, known as an akinakes. We designed this knife after the akinakes with its curved blade and upturned trailing point tip. The flared butt of the handle is also modified from the styling of the time. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steels, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge and makes it the ideal choice for a hunting knife. The unique sheath design allows you to attach it to your belt in a horizontal or vertical position.

This is my 3rd knife purchase so far and it is by far my favorite!!! I purchased it as a “blem” but as of yet can’t find a flaw, and I’ve studied it very closely! These knives are beautiful and extremely well crafted, truly a God given gift!
I purchased a blemished version of the Scythian Damascus Steel Hunting Knife. I could not be happier with my purchase! Phenomenal craftsmanship with fantastic details. Definitely an heirloom quality piece but built to work. A+ Forseti Steel. Highly recommended!
Blemish is very hard to see and the knife looks great and sharp as needed!
I bought a blemished knife and although I did find the blem I still couldn't be happier. Overall it's a beautiful knife and I will without a doubt be buying another one soon. Thank you Forseti Steel for offering such an awesome knife at an awesome price!
The knife is very nice, found the blems pretty easy, however, they don't affect the looks at all. Not happy with the sheath as it is not made for a knife with that much curve in the blade. I believe at some point it will start cutting the threads on the blade side of the sheath.
