The karambit originated among the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra where it was inspired by the claws of a tiger. While the early karambits were used as tools, it was soon weaponised because the curved blade had so much cutting potential. Soldiers in Indonesia would carry a dagger, called a Kris, and a spear. The karambit was always used a weapon of last resort and close quarters combat. Today the karambit is a favorite among martial artists and tactical users.

Our Damascus steel karambit is full tang and made of 1095 and 15n20 steel. The high carbon content of 1095 gives this karambit an extremely sharp and durable edge. The exposed Damascus steel safety ring will give you plenty of control when using this knife. The safety ring helps prevent the knife from sliding in your hand and allows you to spin the karambit to change hand positions. The smooth, ergonomic tali wood handle finishes off the tiger claw look and every looks like the skin of a tiger. Although it won’t help you in combat, we added a bottle opener to the spine, because who doesn’t need a bottle opener on a karambit. The Tiger’s Claw Damascus Steel Karambit is the ideal choice for the discerning collector or tactical user who wants a hand crafted karambit that is unique in design and style.

Good looking blade

First off I love Karambit blades convenient to carry and a good working weapon
I love the look of this blade but the grip is too short amd my pinky ends up smashed against the other three when holding it
If I move it down in grip then I’m exposing my fingers and loose grip strength amd possibly mg finger.
The curve on this blade is very pronounced and can be an advantage in a close space situation
Oh the bottle opener … I’d scrap it
This will be in the box since I don’t think as an EDC it is a little on the heavy side to wield

Tiger Claw for my daughter

I bought this as a birthday gift for my daughter. She’s a martial artist and likes curved blades. The grip is a bit small, but she has smaller hands, so it works out.
I am grinding the bottle opener back a little and rounding it off. As you guys cut the slot, the point is too sharp and right where your thumb rests. Packaging is nice for gift giving. The blade needed a better edge put on it, which I did. Overall, it’s a nice knife and the Damascus pattern is well done.

Outstanding product

Overall a great knife with impeccable design. Knife sheeth is good minus the one rivet that attaches the leather belt loop. After a week of wear the rivet has broken half off. Now I don't wear my knife anymore so it don't randomly fall off and be lost forever. I will figure out a solution to the issue I have encountered.

Hi Brandon!

We're so glad you've loved your karambit but sorry to hear the sheath had an issue. Please reach out to our customer service and we would be more than happy to get you taken care of: support@forsetisteel.com

Nice blade

Only two issues I can see with this blade are, bottle opener is a bit sharp( they could lose it or at least soften that point a bit) and it would be nice if the blade was sent a bit sharper. Other than that, great look, nice feel and weight.

Tiger's Claw Damascus Steel Karambit gets a 5 Star

Packaged arrived on date given. Damascus pattern is fantastic and the handle looks awesome. Knife came sharp and the grip is small, but I can still get a good grip on it. Only two things could be better. 1. The notch in the steel where my thumb rests is sharp and needs a little dulling with a file. 2. At the ends of the handle where the ring is the wood needs to be filed down rounded so as not to catch on anything which could cause it to splinter.

Why Forseti Steel?

Each Knife is Unique

All of our knives are made by hand and crafted one at a time. That is why no two knives are the same. The knife you receive will be similar to what you see on our site, but will be unique based on the natural materials used and individual craftsman that built the knife.

Testimonials

Beautiful, true Damascus steel knives. They set the table with elegance and class.

Love this knife! Compact design, nice grip, feels comfortable in your hand--very sharp blade! As a side for the ladies--it fits in the smallest of bags. You won't be disappointed if you buy it!
